PUBLIC notices cover a range of applications, ranging from licensing applications for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications, roadworks and other works. Their intention is to inform communities of the latest plans in their area and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities. Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Cornwall Council.

RBL registration cancelled

THE registration of the Royal British Legion (Newquay) Club Limited has been cancelled.

It is because it has ‘wilfully violated’ section 89 of the Co-Operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014 having not submitted any annual returns that are ‘acceptable for filing’ for the financial years ending in 2023 and 2024.

As a result, it ceases to enjoy the privileges of a ‘registered society’.

In a public notice published on May 20, the cancellation of the registration, pursuant to section five of the Co-Operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014 gave details of the cancellation.

It stated: “Notice is hereby given that the Authority has, pursuant to the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014, this day cancelled the registration of Royal British Legion (Newquay) Club Limited (register no. 13367 R) the registered office of which is at Trevena Terrace, Newquay, Cornwall TR7 1LD.

“The grounds of the cancellation are that the society has wilfully violated section 89 of the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014 by not submitting to the Authority any annual returns acceptable for filing since that submitted for the society’s financial years ending 2023 and 2024.

“The society ceases to enjoy the privileges of a registered society, but without prejudice to any liability incurred by the society, which may be enforced against it as if such cancellation had not taken place.”
