Organisers thank community for making regatta week such a success

THE ORGANISERS of Charlestown Regatta Week have thanked the local community for making this year’s event such a success.

The regatta week, which ran from July 25 to 31, featured an action-packed programme of events, activities and live music, all in aid of local causes.

Activities taking place over the week included raft racing, water polo, children’s sports and entertainment, musical performances, pasty demonstrations, pebble painting and much more besides.

A memorable highlight of the week was the village’s colourful carnival on Thursday, July 30, which brought the local community together for a vibrant parade that will live long in the memory.

Regatta week came to a close on Friday, July 31 with Regatta Rocks, an entertaining evening of open air live music. The Tregony Teachers, Good Old Fashioned Lover Boys, and 80s Mania performed on the night.

A Charlestown Regatta Week spokesperson said: “What an incredible week it’s been at Charlestown Regatta! From the first event to the last, we’ve loved seeing our beautiful harbour and regatta field filled with smiling faces, laughter, and community spirit.

“A huge thank you goes to everyone who made it happen – our volunteers, sponsors, performers, stallholders, competitors, safety crews, local businesses, and every single person who came along to support the events. You are what makes Charlestown Regatta so special.

“Most of our events are free for everyone to enjoy, and that’s only possible thanks to the support we receive through our ticketed events, sponsorship, donations, and the hard work of so many dedicated volunteers.

“Whether you joined us for one event or the whole week, thank you for being part of it. We hope you’ve made some wonderful memories and will join us again next year.

“Until then… fair winds, safe seas, and thank you for making Charlestown Regatta 2026 one to remember!”
