THERE was plenty of cheer at a charity beer festival held in Newquay over the weekend.

Thousands of people poured in to attend Newquay Beer Festival at Hendra Holiday Park between Friday and Sunday, which is organised annually by Towan Blystra Lions.

There were dozens of beers, ales and ciders to choose from such as Cornish Knocker, Storm Damage and Shaky Todd.

There was a top line up of performers entertaining the crowds, which included headliners Rudi’s Message, Shooter and Substitute.

Festival director Heather Stanley said: “The beer festival has gone really well.

“We’ve had great music and beers to choose from. The feedback has been really positive.

“We do not know what the final takings are yet, but we will be up on last year.”
