Two new benches have been donated to Newquay skatepark so spectators can sit back and enjoy the skateboarding action.
Naked Solar has provided the seating made from recycled materials at Concrete Waves, which was made possible through funding from the Boardmasters Foundation.
Newquay Town Council, which operates the skate facility, says adding comfortable seating areas has enhanced the park’s appeal to visitors of all ages and has significantly improved its family-friendliness.
Concrete Waves Skatepark has been a beloved gathering spot for skateboard enthusiasts and families alike.
Drew Creek, deputy mayor at Newquay Town Council, said: “We are truly grateful to Naked Solar for their generous donation and the Boardmasters Foundation for their support.
“These benches will make Concrete Waves Skatepark an even more inviting place for families, friends, and skateboard enthusiasts.”
Shelley Sampson, finance and growth manager at Naked Solar said: “Naked Solar are always keen to support projects in the local community. As several of our team skateboard (and our kids), the issue of making the skatepark more approachable to families came up.
“Some of the parents at the park decided to start a collection so we could purchase some benches, which would allow the park to become more inclusive. I then took the time to write a funding bid to the Boardmasters Foundation and was fortunate enough to secure £1,000 towards the benches.
“In keeping with our environmental ethos, we selected benches made from recycled plastic, made in the UK and with a 25-year guarantee.”
