A new category has been added to this year’s Tykes on Trikes race in Camborne.

Organised by Camborne’s Business Improvement District (BID) team, this year’s event takes place in the town’s main street on Sunday, October 26, with a third race, Twinkling Stars on Trikes, introduced for children who would benefit from a quieter, more gentle race experience.

The other two categories are Tots on Trikes for those aged up to five years old and Tykes on Trikes for 6 to 10-year-olds.

Races begin at 9am from the Tyacks Hotel and goodie bags sponsored by local businesses, as well as free face painting, are available for participating children. All competitors must have their own bike and be registered in advance. Numbers are restricted to 20 entrants per category.

“Tykes on Trikes has become a staple of our Camborne calendar and we’re looking forward to another fun morning,” said Anna Pascoe, BID manager.

“It’s an inclusive event and children using a mobility chair or other accessibility device are very welcome to take part. We just ask that parents or guardians notify us beforehand so we can make sure all necessary arrangements are in place.

“Registrations are going well and we’re always happy to hear from people willing to help out on the day.”
