An Indian restaurant has hosted the first ever community party in Newquay to celebrate one of the most important festivals in the Muslim calendar.

Zaman’s Restaurant in Henver Road laid on a meal to mark Eid Al-Adha, the Festival of Sacrifice.

On the day, Muslims celebrate with their family and friends with food and gifts.

Mo Eshan Miah, from Zaman’s, said: “We would like to thank everyone that came to celebrate with us.

“We feel blessed that we are able to host these events for such wonderful friends that have become our Cornwall family.

“We hope to continue to do these to keep the togetherness of the community and to show our appreciation of the love and care everyone shows us everyday.”
