A missing woman located at the bottom of a cliff at Porth Beach was brought to safety last Wednesday morning.

Police, Ambulance, Newquay RNLI Lifeboats and Coastguard Rescue Teams from Newquay, St Agnes and Padstow attended the scene at about 10.20am. 

The woman, who had been reported missing from the Camborne area, was rescued at around 1pm.

She was detained under the mental health act and taken into the care of health professionals.

A spokesman for Newquay Coastguard Rescue Team said: “We were tasked to assist Devon and Cornwall Police with an incident on a cliff near Porth beach in Newquay.

“Both HM Coastguard Padstow and St Agnes Coastguard Search and Rescue Team were also tasked to assist, South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust were in attendance and Newquay RNLI Lifeboats were also tasked and on standby.

“All agencies were stood down when the incident was resolved. Thank you to all involved.”
