NEWQUAY lifeguards have received special awards for helping save lives during the season last year

Regional Lifeguard Lead Guy Botterill presented medical awards to Harry Pleasants, Marcelo Crivicich, Otis Perry and Sam Leader for reviving an unconscious non-breathing casualty at Fistral beach on August 13, 2024.

Saul Woodfinden, Steve Hardy along with Harry and Marcelo received the award for reviving an unconscious non-breathing casualty at Fistral Beach on September 23 2024 at Fistral beach.

Greg Spray and Jason Walsh were presented with their 20 year long service medals.

Lead lifeguard supervisor for Newquay, Lewis Timson, said: “We gathered to have our annual team photo and to present some awards of recognition from our 2024 season.

“Well done to the these individuals and all the team for their continued hard work. Our peak season finishes on Sunday, Lusty Glaze and the additional South Fistral patrol will close from then, but all other patrols continue as normal.”
