A CROWDFUNDING campaign has been launched to pay for the funeral of Lee Hockey, whose body was found in woods between Truro and Probus on July 1. Detectives are investigating the 50-year-old’s death as a suspected murder.
“Lee was a lovely man and loved by many. Such a sad time - please help to give him a send-off.”
Officers were called to woodland between Truro and Probus at around 6pm on Tuesday, July 1, where Lee’s body had been located. Lee was from the Truro area, and detectives are calling for the public’s help to trace his last movements.

Detective Inspector Rob Smith, from the Major Crime Investigation Team, said: “Anyone who saw Lee between June 23 and July 1 is urged to come forward.
“It has been confirmed that Lee spent the most of Monday, June 23 in Truro city centre, before taking a bus out to the Trispen area. The last-confirmed sighting of Lee was in Trispen later that evening. His whereabouts from there are currently unknown but it is likely he would have been travelling on foot.
Anyone who may have passed through Trispen, Tresillian or the surrounding villages, and who has dashcam, doorbell or CCTV footage in those areas, is urged to check them and report any relevant information as a priority.
A Major Incident Public Portal (MIPP) has been set up to allows members of the public to directly send large files such as doorbell, CCTV and dashcam footage that could assist in the investigation.
