CARE scheme tenants are set to save over £300 annually thanks to landmark Solar PV renovation.
Coastline Housing has completed solar PV and battery renovation as part of the Extra Care scheme at Miners Court, Redruth, helping lower energy costs for all 64 flats as well as it’s onsite community facilities.
The installation, funded by the government’s Shared Prosperity Fund, comprises of 575 Solar Panels coupled with 80 kilowatt hours of energy storage and is expected to save each resident £346 a year, translating to a collective £22,000 a year across the scheme.
Ben Nevitte from Coastline Housing said: “We’re very proud to have been a part of this project and delighted that the residents of Miners Court will benefit from greener energy and financial savings for years to come. It’s a really positive investment in all senses of the word.”
Hayleigh Harris, Extra Care manager at Miners Court, said: “Miners Court is a real hub of the community in Redruth and we love welcoming people in to attend our Day Centre and use facilities such as our on-site restaurant, assisted bathroom and hairdressers.
“This project is something really special for the building. Residents and visitors have all been following progress with interest and are really pleased to hear about the cost savings and energy efficiency it will bring.”
