INITIATIVES are being held to help people out of work find employment.

Newquay Jobcentre held its Jobsfair with a range of employers including Cormac and Greenlight, plus training providers such as the National Careers Service and Cornwall College.

The centre is also continuing to help the hospitality sector and hosting recruitment events for Park Dean Holiday Parks across the Newquay area.

Celtic Sea Power are holding an information day on Thursday, May 22 in Newquay, providing an overview of the industry and floating offshore wind.

Judith May from Newquay Jobcentre said: “Our work coaches say the best part of their job is seeing someone succeed in their employment goals. Giving people extra time and tailored support so they get the extra help needed to overcome barriers can make a huge difference to a someone’s life.

“With over 760,000 job vacancies available, helping people achieve financial security through work as the economy grows, helps people build a better life for themselves.”
