A houseboat is due to be broken up after being damaged by the storms in Newquay harbour.
The Ross Finn sought refuge in the harbour but has become wrecked during the recent large swells.
The harbour team has been removing loose timbers from the wreck to avoid pollution and flotsam damage to other boats and swimmers.
Fisherman Phil Trebilcock said: “The Ross Finn was apparently bought as houseboat.
“The vessel steamed from Brixham to Newlyn, then Newlyn to Bideford but couldn’t get in there so came back to Padstow and apparently couldn’t get in, so came to Newquay, all in a northerly gale.
“Newquay is not the place for big boat during this time of year. They did a few repairs and really should have gone last week. Then the big swell came, and they couldn’t hold it alongside the wall, pulling the aft mast out. Then it just got worse. The boat is due to be broke up this week by machine and taken away.”
