The historic market town ranked 43rd overall in the UK out of 691 locations in Lovehoney’s 2026 Sex Map, which analyses sales data from the previous 12 months.
The rankings compare purchases against local populations to calculate the number of products bought per person, revealing which areas are investing most heavily in sexual wellness.
At the other end of the county rankings was Camborne, which came 395th overall.
The results put Helston ahead of some of Cornwall’s better-known towns and tourist destinations, including Truro, Penzance and Newquay.
Across the UK, Waltham Cross in Hertfordshire took the top spot, making it the country’s ‘sexiest’ town according to the data.
Lovehoney sex and relationship expert Annabelle Knight said the results showed sexual wellness was not limited to major cities.
“Sexual wellness doesn’t only exist in big cities, it’s for everyone,” she said. “Our data often shows strong engagement from smaller communities, where people may value the privacy, choice, and convenience of shopping online.”
She added that the rankings showed “pleasure alive and well in every corner of the UK”, with unexpected locations sometimes producing the most interesting results.
Lovehoney said no personal data was used when compiling the rankings.
Its Sex Map uses sales information from the previous year and compares purchases in towns, cities and regions against population figures to calculate purchases per capita.
The company’s interactive 2026 map allows people to see how their own area ranks nationally.
