FUNDING has been secured to create more murals in Newquay town centre to help attract visitors.
Newquay BID will be adding artworks to the free street art walking trail, which aims to celebrate the town’s unique heritage and identity.
BID manager Mark Warren said: “We’re thrilled that we’ve successfully secured additional funding for more murals across the town.
“This means our mural trail is growing bringing even more colour, creativity, and community spirit to new areas.
“We’ll be revealing more details in the coming weeks. We can’t wait to see even more parts of the town come alive with amazing artwork.”
Various murals have already been created including an abstract beach scheme at MIX NQY in East Street, a fisherman tending to his nets at the junction of Fore Street and Sydney Road and an illustrative and playful design on the back of The Walkabout at The Crescent.
Each artwork is connected via QR codes, which provides information about the artists and the design.
The mural project is being delivered by Newquay BID and Jack Tierney from Slapdash Studio.
