CORNWALL Museum and Art Gallery will operate a 'pay it forward' system for this year’s Christmas show, helping the magic go a little further for local families who wouldn't otherwise be able enjoy the experience.

Tickets for Father Christmas at the Museum are priced at £8 to be accessible to as many people as possible. In addition, anyone is welcome to buy an extra ticket for a local child who wouldn’t otherwise be able to enjoy the experience. These will be distributed with the help of community partner WILD, supporting young parents in Cornwall.

Museum co-director Bryony Robins said: “Inclusivity and accessibility is the bedrock of our mission at the museum. We’re keenly aware that for some local families, Christmas brings complex pressures and not enough simple joy, hence this straightforward but effective ‘pay it forward’ scheme.”

The immersive experience will take place in the Nature Gallery, with Lowen the Elf telling the tale of ‘A Chattering of Choughs,’ a flock of birds who united to help the reindeer and save Christmas.

The culmination of the journey - brought to life with twinkling lights and spellbinding projections - brings you to Father Christmas’ secret Kernow Office for a special visit, complete with a small gift and a photo opportunity with the man himself.

The production has been created by experienced artistic director Michael Tonkin-Jones. "A Chattering of Choughs is a heartwarming, original story, rich in references to Cornish history and nature as well as festive folklore,” he said. “Most of all, it's a tale full of joy, hope, and kindness, delivered in beautiful surroundings."

Father Christmas at the Museum runs from December 10 until Christmas Eve. Tickets can be purchased at the museum’s cabin at Truro Christmas Market from November 21 to 25, or online at www.cornwallmuseum.org/events.
