CAMBORNE Show will take place on July 18 and is gearing up to be the biggest and best yet.

This is the second year the annual event has been held on land at Gear Farm, just outside the town, and the event will see record numbers of livestock entries, a full compliment of trade stands booked and what is expected to be the largest number of heavy horses taking part in a Cornish show this year.

Long-standing chairman Reg Bennett says he’s looking forward to another good event.

“Our attendance figures were around 4,000 in 2025, and if the weather is kind, I expect that to increase,” he said. “We moved from our previous site so the show could grow and that’s certainly happening at Gear.

“There’s a lot of agricultural land in Camborne parish and Camborne Show is all about bringing the countryside to town and getting our community together.”

The showground is a 15-minute walk from Camborne Library, and there is free car and cycle parking – although you can avoid the queues by taking a park-and-ride service from Camborne rugby club, or a free shuttle bus from Morrisons in Pool and Troon Square.

The inaugural Camborne Show took place in 1942 after being set up by the Holman family as a way of fundraising for the Red Cross. This year’s event is supported by Camborne’s Business Improvement District (BID Camborne), whose manager Anna Pascoe said: “The event has become part of our history and heritage.

“There’s plenty for people to see and do – including craft and domestic tents, a vintage vehicle rally, horticultural displays and horse and dog shows. It’s a really fun day out for the whole family, and I can’t recommend it enough.”

Tickets cost £10 per adult and £5 per child over the age of 12. For more information, visit www.camborneshow.org.uk
