THE family of a woman who died following a serious road traffic collision near Chiverton Cross has paid tribute to her.
Pamela Arthur, known as Pam, passed away in hospital aged 76 after she was seriously injured in a collision while driving on the A390 on Tuesday, November 18.
Paying tribute to her, Pamela’s family said: “Our family shares, with heavy hearts, the passing of Pamela (Pam) Arthur after a tragic accident. She fought a valiant battle after the life-changing injuries caused by the accident on Tuesday, November 18, but despite her strength and the incredible care she received, we heartbreakingly lost her a week later. She was surrounded by her close family at the time of her passing, held with love, comfort and peace.
“The loss of such a vibrant, strong woman has left us all heartbroken, and we know that many in the community who knew her will feel the same.
“She was a treasured mother, grandmother, sister, aunty and friend — warm, glamorous, generous, and always fiercely protective of the people she cared about. She had a natural elegance, often expressed through her love of jewellery and little touches of sparkle that were so uniquely her. Her strong faith guided her through every chapter of her life, giving her strength, comfort and purpose. Even at 76, she kept her glow — her humour, her quick wit, her energy, and her zest for living. She looked after herself, maintained her independence, and embraced each day with style, positivity and an unmistakable sparkle that made her unforgettable.
“We will miss her more than words can say. Her generosity of spirit, her kindness, her presence and her unwavering loyalty enriched all our lives. We know that everyone who had the privilege of knowing her will feel this loss deeply and remember her with love.
“As we grieve, we also want to send our love, sympathy and blessings to the other driver and his family. We understand that they will be feeling their own emotions, shock and heartbreak, and we hold them in our thoughts. Our hearts go out to everyone impacted by this tragedy.
“This was a tragic incident, and we kindly ask for privacy and understanding as we support one another through this incredibly difficult time.”
