The day kicked off with a high-energy kids’ workout session run by Hybryd, where every young participant proudly walked away with a free, limited-edition Breast Fest t-shirt, setting the tone for a day filled with generosity and joy.

Live music echoed across The Killacourt as the event showcased a vibrant lineup of performers including students from The Studios Newquay, the nostalgic sounds of Miss 80’s, acoustic favourite Ashley Harding, the country vibes of Bow River, and the high-octane set from Britpop tribute band Kernoasis.

Jemma Sleeman and Danae Gilson-Smith organised the family festival to give back to the charity. Jemma was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2020 and is undergoing a clinical trial for a recurrence.

A lively raffle and auction saw an outpouring of support from local businesses, who donated a wide range of prizes. The community’s generosity played a key role in helping Danae and Jemma reach their impressive fundraising total.

Danae said: “All of this was only possible because of the people who gave their time, energy, and talents for free.

“From the performers to the volunteers, and everyone who bought a raffle ticket, we are so grateful.”

The celebrations continued at The Dead Famous, where the official Breast Fest after-party was held featuring a burlesque show, a live performance from DVOTION, and DJs spinning tunes late into the night.

Jemma said: “We want to thank each and every person who volunteered, performed, donated, or simply turned up and supported us. Without you, this wouldn’t have been possible.”
