A YOUNG Cornish actor has been named in The Sunday Times Young Power List 2026.

Lox Pratt, who is 14 and trained at the Jason Thomas Performing Arts school in Truro, is described as “one of Britain’s most promising young acting talents”.

He was seen most recently in the role of Jack in the BBC adaptation of Lord of the Flies and is set to reach a huge new audience after being cast as Draco Malfoy in HBO’s forthcoming Harry Potter television series.

Lox is one of 30 inspiring young people including chart-topping musicians, world-class athletes, rising political figures, entrepreneurs and cultural stars. Familiar names include Brit Award-winning musician Raye, England and Arsenal striker Alessia Russo, Britain’s youngest ever Formula 1 driver Arvid Lindblad, Reform council leader George Finch and actress, model and disability campaigner (and Strictly star) Ellie Goldstein.

Lox trained with Truro teacher Jason Thomas from 2020 until filming began on Lord of the Flies last year. “We’re all very proud – myself, but also all the kids,” said Jason. “We’re like a little family.

“Lox was always intent and focused on learning. He asked lots of questions about movement and steps, in drama and in singing.

“I’ll definitely be following his progress from now on. There’s a perception that you have to live in London and the home counties to make it , but it’s not that case – you just need a supportive team and parents around you, and things can happen.”

The 30 winners were chosen by Sunday Times editors and The Young Power List 2026 took over The Sunday Times Magazine on April 19.

Sunday Times Commissioning Editor Hannah Swerling said: “The rules of success are being rewritten by a new generation of British talent. All 30 are at the forefront of a new era of British excellence.”
