COMEDY legend Rich Hall will be bringing his latest show, Chin Music, to the Keay Theatre in St Austell on Thrusday, June 12 and Launceston Town Hall on Saturday, June 14.

“Chin Music” has two meanings. One is idle talk, the other is a brushback throw in baseball or cricket to intimidate the batter. Both describe Rich Hall’s comedy. Idle but intimidating, while also being sharp, quick, splenetic, and sublimely improvisational.

The award-winning Montana native is renowned for his expertly crafted tirades, quick-fire banter with audiences and delightful musical sequences. Rich has been described as a transatlantic messenger, lampooning each country he visits with his laser-guided observations.

A brilliant comedian, musician, director, actor and writer, the American first came to prominence as a sketch comedian in the 1980s. He has written and performed for a range of American networks, in series such as Fridays, Not Necessarily the News, and Saturday Night Live.

Rich has appeared on BBC One’s QI, Live At The Apollo and Have I Got News For You, he wrote and starred in his own recurring BBC Radio 4 show Rich Hall’s (US Election) Breakdown and has penned articles for The Guardian and The Sunday Times.

Rich has acted in the Peacock’s dystopian thriller Brave New World, hit Disney+ series Extraordinary, ITV2 sitcom Cockroaches and in Comedy Central’s Drunk History UK and lent his voice to characters on CITV’s Thunderbirds Are Go and Cartoon Network’s Elliot from Earth.

Also an acclaimed author, Rich’s last book ‘Nailing It’ was released by Quercus Books in August 2022. ‘Nailing It’ is a collection of hilarious and often absurd epiphanies in the legendary comedian’s life that defined him – more in a for worse than for better kind of way – and all delivered in his unique deadpan style.
