THE Mevagissey Male Choir will be making a welcome return to the Minack Theatre, with special guests Culdrose Military Wives Choir, on Thursday, April 30, at 7pm.

The choir recently celebrated their 50th anniversary with a concert in the Hall for Cornwall to a packed audience.

Now with a relatively new musical director, Jimmy Cannon, along with stalwart accompanist Matt Fox, their repertoire is better than ever.

They have sung across the world in countries such as the USA, Canada, Spain, Gibraltar and Cyprus.

Joining them on the night will be the Culdrose Military Wives Choir, which was founded in 2012 and inspired by Gareth Malone’s The Choir, a BAFTA-winning BBC television series.

Based in Helston at Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose, the choir has featured on three Military Wives Choirs albums and performs an eclectic repertoire of contemporary pieces at venues across Cornwall.

The choir is led by musical director Taylor London, a recent Masters graduate from the Royal Northern College of Music and also a military spouse.
