The Fisherman’s Friends Festival returns to Stithians showground over the late May Bank Holiday weekend (May 28 to 30, 2027) with a line-up including Scottish songstress Lulu alongside the self-styled Cornish “buoy band”.
Following a sold-out debut earlier this year, which welcomed 5,000 people each day, Port Isaac’s shantymen have unveiled a line-up including folk heavyweights Fairport Convention and Jacqui McShee’s Pentangle, as well as Scotland's Breabach, Le Vent du Nord from Quebec, Celtic rock band Skerryvore and popular tribute band The Bootleg Beatles.
Look out, too, for contemporary songstress Katherine Priddy, acclaimed Devon duo Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman, and a stirring performance from Sea Song Sessions - featuring Jon Boden, Seth Lakeman, Emily Portman, Ben Nicholls and Jack Rutter.
Local input includes Porthleven Town Band, a lively dance party with Falmouth’s Brim Ceilidh Band, and comperes Kernow King and Johnny Cowling, who will ensure everything runs smoothly and with a dash of humour.
Alongisde the festival’s giant Big Top, the Outdoor Bandstand will host additional live sets from Friday to Sunday, including perennial party band Mad Dog Mcrea, Cornish favourites 3 Daft Monkeys, Geoff Lakeman’s folk sessions, Barrett’s Privateers and some surprises from the Fisherman’s Friends and their families.
Cornish collective ARTiculate will run an art tent through the weekend with hands-on, maritime-themed craft making including lanterns, prints and collages, and shanty sessions for children.
The inaugural festival’s simple quest was to bring people together on the group’s own home soil to enjoy fantastic entertainment, good company and the unmistakable Fisherman’s Friends bonhomie.
Fisherman’s Friend member Jeremy Brown said: “When we first talked about creating our own festival, we just hoped people would come and enjoy a great weekend in Cornwall. We never imagined quite how special it would feel seeing thousands of people singing together, making new friends and having such a good time.
“The support we received was incredible and we're really excited to be doing it all again. We've put together another fantastic line-up and can't wait to welcome everybody back to Stithians.”
Tickets – including day, weekend and camping options - are on sale now from fishermansfriendsfestival.co.uk.
