VISITORS to Looe are set for three days of live music when the Looe Weekender returns to the town from Friday, September 19 to 21.
Organised by local pubs, clubs and bars, the Looe Weekender is a three-day music event which take place at ten venues and pop-up stages across the town, showcasing great local and regional talent. The Looe Weekender, which is now in its fourth year, was set up by locals after the collapse of the Looe Music Festival.
Visitors can expect to see an eclectic line up of bands, duos and soloists with most venues hosting at least three musical sessions each day. In total, over 85 sets will be performed with some venues having bonus gigs on Thursday, September 18 too.
The West Looe Quay Stage and Hannafore Beach Kiosk will host music and there will also a number of one-off performances in local cafes and restaurants throughout the weekend, meaning there will be music being performed most of the day in East Looe, West Looe and Hannafore.
Also serving up a treat in Looe this September will be the town’s Food and Drink Festival.
The festival, which is heralded as a one-day spectacular, will be held at East Looe’s Buller Quay on Sunday, September 14 and will showcase the region’s best local food vendors. The festival has always welcomed a packed attendance to the event’s chef demonstrations, food market and street stalls.
At the heart of each is a love of local Cornish produce, and a complete passion to push Looe’s culinary presence to new heady heights and add it to the name of Cornish foodie capitals.
The full line-up for both the Looe Weekender and Looe Food and Drink Festival will be announced in due course but both events are sure to be as big and better as ever.
