Emergency services were scrambled after a man was on the wrong side of the railings at Towan Beach on Tuesday.
Devon & Cornwall Police and Newquay Coastguard Search and Rescue Team attended the incident at 4pm.
The incident was successfully resolved around one and a half hours later after officers spoke to the man.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Emergency services were called to a report of concern for the welfare of a man on the wrong side of the railings near the beach.
Emergency services engaged with the man and he came back safely and was spoken to by officers at around 5.30pm.”
