EMERGENCY services were scrambled after reports were received of a woman in distress threatening to harm herself in Newquay Bay on Monday night.
Police, the ambulance service and Newquay Coastguard Search and Rescue Team attended the incident in the Towan Beach area at 8.50pm.
A search was carried out in the Towan Beach area, and Great Western.
The woman was eventually located near the Barrowfields at around 10.40pm.
A police spokesperson said: “Police were called following concerns for the welfare of a woman in the Towan Beach area.
“The woman was in distress and threatening to harm herself.
“An area search was conducted for the woman who was located safe at Narrowcliff.
“She was checked over by ambulance and appropriate safeguarding was put in place.”
