The Countrymen did the double over the Townsmen at the second and final St Columb hurl.

Phil Ellery had the honour of throwing up the ball for Tuesdays winner, Harvey Ellery.

Phil last won the ball, 25 years ago in 1998, so he offered £25, if the ball was kept in the town for one hour.

But after approximately 55 minutes the ball was initially carried out of town via Bank Street and down to Bridge. Near Trewan woods the ball was then taken across country, down the Lanherne Valley and crossed the River Menalhyl three times.

The ball changed hands several times, with some good scrumming and tackling. Eventually, the ball was carried into St Mawgan Parish, near Nanskeval by Ben Lomax for the Country win. Ben will hold the ball until the next Hurl, on February 13, 2024.
