Boardmasters is sponsoring the town’s Christmas tree this year.

Mayor Cllr Drew Creek said: “I am thrilled with the lineup for this Christmas light switch on spectacular brought to you by Newquay Town Council.

“I can’t wait to see the Christmas Tree in its prominent new spot on the Killacourt which makes so much sense. Huge thanks go to our new events co-ordinator Amy and partnership working with Mark from Newquay Bid. I will be there with Radio Newquay and special guest switching on the lights from 6.30pm. It’s going to be a blast.”

A spokesperson for Visit Newquay said: “The entertainment programme is carefully curated to create the perfect festive atmosphere throughout the evening. Christmas carols and party music help get everyone into the festive spirit before the main light switch ceremony, with performers and musicians taking to the stage to showcase their talents and spread Christmas cheer.

“The highlight of the evening comes with the ceremonial switching on of Newquay's Christmas lights, a moment that transforms the Newquay into a glittering spectacle.

“No Newquay Christmas celebration would be complete without the breathtaking fireworks display. The spectacular firework display lights up the skies over the bay creating a stunning backdrop against the dark Atlantic waters and providing the perfect conclusion to the evening's festivities.”
