St Nectan’s Glen in Cornwall has been named as one of the most impressive waterfalls in the country.

Experts at Go Outdoors have listed their top 15 waterfalls in the UK and St Nectan’s Glen at Trethevy, near Tintagel, was voted in 10th position.

St Nectan’s Glen is an area of woodland that features a number of waterfalls, including the 60 ft Nectan’s Kieve, which over time has punched a hole through the rocks.

To reach the waterfalls, you have to walk along the River Trevillet and ivy-clad trees. Nectan’s Kieve is considered a sacred place to some and the area now features numerous ribbons, crystals, inscriptions, prayers and more all over the rock and foliage near the fall.

High Force in County Durham was rated the most impressive waterfall.

The only other one in the South West to make the list was Becky Falls on Dartmoor, which was ranked ninth.
