A village pub which closed earlier this year has been reopened after its owners found temporary tenants to run the establishment for the local community.

The Dolphin Inn in Grampound, which has always played a key part in the village’s heritage and community fabric, has been welcoming back customers since the beginning of September.

After opening during the village’s Carnival Week, the new managers are now serving food and holding quiz nights.

Owners St Austell Brewery, who put the Dolphin up for sale in March for a guide price of £415,000, are still searching for a permanent landlord to take over the pub.

The Dolphin was previously run by Neil Jackson and his family before the inn closed its doors in April.

Earlier this year, a campaign to buy the pub was set up by local residents who were exploring the possibility of buying and running the pub as a community asset.
