RESIDENTS and visitors are set for a big day out in Newquay that will include a new community festival being staged.
The town will come alive with the Look Out Festival being staged at Beachfield Gardens, Eothen Gardens and at the north end of Towan Beach held on Saturday, September 6. People will also be able to visit the Harbour Festival at the Boathouse, The Big Newquay Market on Bank Street and at the harbour as well as the Newquay Town Council summer finale on the Killacourt.
The Look Out Festival will boast a jam-packed programme of shows, street theatre, circus performances, installations, activities and community stalls.
Shows will include Wipeout by Cscape & Off the Wall Aerial, Wire Attire by Sam Goodburn, The Sea Show by Squashbox Theatre, No Time To Waste by H & T Creative, Thingamabob by Matt Pang, Love Juice by Ethel Darling, Lafrowda by St Just Rare Birds Society and Surprises on Stilts by the Lonely Clown Club.

Activities being organised include Splat art tent by Youth Art Connect, Beach Labyrinth, Juicy Roots Corner, Blystra Arts Making Space, Newquay Volleyball, Newquay Chess, City of Lights Flag Printing, STEAM Co and the Lonely Clown Club Circus Workshop.
There will be performances from Scratch Choir, 4Motion CIC, The Clam, Newquay Samba, Dalooj, Bounce Dance Academy, Move Dance Academy and storytelling by Naomi Jones. Dicky Souray, who is helping to organise the event, said: “The event sees Groundswell partner with Experience Newquay, Newquay BID, Cornwall Shop Small, Newquay Town Council, Visit Newquay and The Boathouse to bring one of the biggest multi-site community events that Newquay as seen in years.
“Spread over three spaces, the day is a celebration of creativity, connection and community across the town.
“Look out for international acts, community talent and drop-in activities on the beach, streets and green spaces of Newquay.”
