A COMMUNITY in Newquay is inviting residents to come together and enjoy some food and fun.

The Nansledan Community Association is staging the Big Lunch - Big Help Out on Sunday, June 7 between 11am and 2pm.

The day will kick start with a family fun run around the wetlands with all runners receiving a medal and certificate for completing the course.

People need to register at Parc Mengleudh, the main park in the centre of Nansledan at 10.30am to take part.

The Fun Run has been sponsored by Moore Movement Gym based in Nansledan.

Brendan from Moore Movement will be doing some exercises to get all runners warmed up and ready for the run.

The Big Lunch in the Parc will be staged following the run where people are invited to bring along a picnic and enjoy fun on the green.

Leigh Mayor from Nansledan Stores will be running his Big Quiz to keep people entertained.

There will be music to listen to, and games scattered round the Parc area to keep children entertained.

Theresa Ferguson from Nansledan Community Association said: “We will provide some tables and chairs and some nibbles, so come along and have fun.

“Let’s hope the weather stays dry.

“If not don’t worry, we will move The Big Lunch into the Community Centre.

“We look forward to seeing you all out having fun meeting your neighbours and taking part in the Family Fun Run and Leigh’s Big Quiz.

“If your free on the day and want to join the Big Help out then why not come along for the day as a volunteer and help us marshal the fun run, or help put up some bunting, set up the tables or join the litter pick immediately after the event.”
