PREPARATIONS are well underway to stage a carnival in Newquay in the summer.
Newquay Lions Community Carnival will be themed ‘Carnival by the Coast’ on Saturday, July 4.
The popular event will include a family fun day on the Killacourt as well as the carnival procession.
A Lions spokesperson said: “Our community parade will begin on Fore Street and make its way through Newquay, finishing at Narrowcliff. Expect costumes, characters, floats and loads of coastal flair.
“We can’t wait to see everyone’s creative, colourful, coastal-inspired ideas come to life. “The fun day will include family activities, games, food, entertainment and live music. Fun for all ages with the best backdrop in town! “Let’s make 2026 our biggest and best carnival yet.
“We’re looking for individuals, community groups, local organisations and businesses to get involved through sponsorship, hosting an event including after-parties or on-the-day activities, joining the procession and supporting in any way they can. Let’s bring the community together and create a Carnival by the Coast to remember.”
