IN a huge win for Camborne primary school, St John’s, CBeebies' on-screen duo Fred and Pete will be attending the annual summer fair to help raise money for much-needed school funds.

The pair, who host popular CBeebies shows Treasure Tales and Art Adventures, will join the long list of entertainment scheduled throughout the day, lending their creative talents for a game of ‘Guess the Treasure’.

St John’s Summer Fest will be held at the primary school on Sunday, July 20, from 12pm to 4pm.

Alongside Fred and Pete, visitors can look forward to RAOST, who will be performing songs from their Hall for Cornwall show, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory; magician Peter Bright; demonstrations by ELDA, Mahers Martial Arts, and West Coast Academy, as well as a DJ set from The Soul Reverend.

Bouncy castles, stalls, raffles, and more will be on hand throughout the day to keep children thoroughly entertained.

Last year’s fair welcomed around 200 eager visitors, with this year promising an even bigger turnout as many gather to see Fred and Pete in person.

Amy Sparkes, said: “As a parent who has watched the show a lot with my son, I know how popular Fred and Pete are, but more importantly, their whole programme is based in Cornwall.

“That local connection makes this a huge opportunity for the school and the kids, and I can’t wait for this year’s Summer Fest to be the biggest and best yet.”

Equally excited for the upcoming fair, St John’s headteacher, Mrs Armstrong, said: “St John's Catholic Primary School cannot wait to host another fantastic PTFA event.

“Families are invited to spend the afternoon with us on our field and enjoy all the wonderful entertainment that has been organised. Every pound spent at Summer Fest will be put back into the PTFA, supporting wonderful opportunities for our pupils.”
