STUDENTS at Camborne Science & International Academy (CSIA) collected their A-Level results earlier today (Thursday, August 14).

An amazing 70 per cent of CSIA students achieved an A*-B grade, with 39 per cent of students achieving either an A or A* grade. CSIA’s specialist STEM provision, Cornwall School of Maths and Science, excelled with 70 per cent of students achieving A*-A grades.

100 per cent of students who applied for veterinary medicine achieved their grades. Alfie B and Amelia G will be taking their place at Royal Veterinary College, London.

Alfie, who shared his excitement, said: “Throughout my time in Sixth Form I felt really cared for and supported. I was given the best opportunities to succeed and the support that I was given by Mrs Haase on the Vets Pathway was invaluable. I worked hard and focused on my future dream to make myself proud. I can’t wait.”

Five students achieved a place at Cambridge or Oxford. Isla R achieved three A*s in Chemistry French and Maths and an A* in Extended Project Qualification. She will study French and beginners' German at University of Oxford.

Isla, who expressed her gratitude after studying at Cornwall School of Maths and Science, said: “There was a wonderful and supportive environment at CSMS — the teachers and students have been lovely. I have benefited from smaller class sizes and from teachers who are specialists in their subjects.”

Lily B will be studying medicine at University of Cambridge after achieving two A*s in Chemistry and Maths and an A in Biology. Lily also achieved an A* in the Extended Project Qualification.

Beth R will study Human Sciences at University of Oxford after achieving an A* in Biology and Chemistry and an A in Maths. George R achieved three A*'s in Maths, Further Maths and Physics and will be taking his place at University of Cambridge to read Engineering. Josh T will study Law at Oxford University after achieving an A* in Economics and Maths, as well as an A in History.

Other successes include Edward B who achieved an A* in Maths, Further Maths and Physics and will study Mathematics at University of St Andrews. Benjamin C also achieved A*'s in Maths, Further Maths and Physics and will study Mathematics at University of Warwick. Isabella K achieved A*'s in Biology, Chemistry and Psychology and plans to study Neuroscience at the University of Exeter.

From September, the CSIA Sixth Form will have a fresh new identity and be known as Camborne Sixth Form. The rebrand reflects a renewed focus on ambition, clarity, and community, under the new tagline: “Learn locally, succeed globally.”
