THE Camborne Show is taking place at a new venue much closer to the town on Saturday, July 19.
The event has been a highlight of the Cornish calendar since 1942 when it was first held to raise funds for the Red Cross.
Founded by the Holman family and supported by local farmers, the annual show has previously been staged at Camborne Recreational Ground, Camborne Rugby Club and, most recently, Gwealavellan Farm.
Gear Farm on Baripper Road is this year’s location – a fifteen-minute walk, five-minute cycle ride or 2-minute drive from Camborne’s town centre.
BID Camborne manager, Anna Pascoe, said: “We’re delighted to support an event that means so much to our local community and has done for more than 80 years.
“The Holmans were heavily involved in running it until their Camborne-based mining manufacturing company was dissolved and a charity was formed to keep the show going.
“Now a wide range of trade stands, vintage car rally, displays and competitive classes guarantee a fun day out for all the family. There’s plenty of information on the website and tickets can be bought in advance or on the day.”
This year’s event will be supporting Parkinson’s UK. For more information on the 2025 show, visit here.
