Train operator Great Western Railway has released data showing the busiest trains this Christmas.

Data from the number of seats booked showed the 1204 Paddington to Penzance service was the most in-demand over most of the period.

Today, Friday, December 23 is generally the most popular for pre-Christmas travel and Tuesday 27 for post-Christmas.

Top five busiest trains were:

1204 Paddington to Penzance, December 23.

1204 Paddington to Penzance, December 22.

1104 Paddington to Plymouth, December 23.
