PEOPLE had a barrel of fun at a charity beer festival held in Newquay over the weekend.

Hundreds of people poured in to attend the 12th Newquay Beer Festival at Hendra Holiday Park between Friday and Sunday, which is organised annually by Towan Blystra Lions.

There were dozens of beers, ales and ciders to choose from including Driftwood Spars Sea Shanty, Atlantic Brewery’s Seasalt Stout and Tintagel Brewery’s Pendragon. Chrissie’s Sunshine Bar served Cornish gin and chilled fizz.

There was various live music throughout the weekend, which included headliners Rudi’s Message, One for the Road and Quest.

Other performers entertaining the crowds were The Fallout, Joe Ninety and the Bucket Hats, Newquay Samba, Raymundo, Oll an Gwella, Bow River Band, North Coast Choir, Newquay Band and Humungadunga’s.

The Newquay Beer Festival has raised more than £110,000 for charities over the years.

Lion president Jon Collins said: “Lots of work has gone into staging the beer festival by volunteers and friends of the club to help make it another fantastic event.

“Bearing in mind the wet weather we had the beer festival has been well supported.

“We would like to thank the acts who come year after year to perform for free for charity and also to Hendra Holiday Park for allowing us to stage the event.”
