A man sustained life-threatening injuries following a single-car collision near Cornwall Airport Newquay on Friday morning.

The grey Seat Leon left the A3059 near the Aerohub Business Park junction around 5.40am and ended up on its roof.

The driver, a man in his 40s, sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to Derriford Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Officers from the Alliance Roads Policing Team, supported by local officers, attended and conducted a forensic examination of the scene. The road was closed and reopened around 3pm.

They are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and asking for any witnesses or anyone who saw the car travelling on the A3059 from Newquay beforehand to contact them. Officers are also seeking any relevant dashcam footage.
