POLICE are appealing for the public’s help to trace a 37-year-old man who is believed to be in the Looe area.

William Mactavish is wanted in connection with an allegation of stalking involving fear of violence.

Officers have carried out enquiries to locate Mactavish but have now turned to the public for information about his whereabouts.

Police are also urging anyone who sees him to report the sighting immediately.

Mactavish is described as a white man, around 5ft 7ins tall and of slim build, with brown hair.

He is understood to have links to both Cornwall and Avon and Somerset.

Police have warned members of the public not to approach Mactavish if they see him.

Anyone who spots him is asked to call police on 999 immediately, quoting reference number 50260233198.

Officers are asking people to provide any information that could help them locate him safely.
