DETECTIVES are appealing for help to trace the last movements of a man who was found deceased in Penryn at the weekend.

Officers were called at 8.40am on Sunday, April 27, after a man in his 20s was discovered underneath Collegewood Viaduct.

He was pronounced deceased at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

Detectives are carrying out enquiries into the circumstances of his death which is currently being treated as unexplained.

The man was last seen by friends in Falmouth at 12.15am on Sunday following a night out. He left them in Grove Place to walk back home to Penryn.

Detectives are asking for help to piece together a timeline of his movements after he left the town centre.

They are keen for any sightings or footage of the man walking in the area around the viaduct and Glasney Playing Fields and Valley between 12.15am and 8.15am on Sunday.

The man is described as white and between 5ft 8ins and 5ft 10ins tall, of medium build and with short ginger hair and glasses. He was wearing a dark green waist length hooded coat, dark coloured combat style trousers and dark Adidas trainers.

Detective Inspector Pete Gee said: “At this time we are not treating the death as suspicious but as unexplained. We are working to establish the man’s movements in the hours before his death and would like to hear from anyone who may have seen him on foot around the access to the viaduct or in the Glasney Playing Fields and Valley area.

“We would like to hear from anyone in the residential area around the viaduct who may have captured him on CCTV or anyone driving in the area at the time with vehicle dashcam.”
