A MULTI-agency response was seen at Towan beach, Newquay, in the early hours of Thursday, August 13, after reports were received of a casualty in the water.
At 3.31am members of the Newquay Coastguard Rescue Team were joined by Newquay RNLI Lifeboats, HM Coastguard Padstow, South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust and Newquay Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 924.
The team had been tasked to assist Devon and Cornwall Police with a casualty in the water at Towan.
The casualty was eventually brought ashore by the lifeboat crew, Newquay Coastguard Rescue Team and the police before being handed over to the ambulance service.
A spokesperson for the Coastguard added: “If you see someone in difficulty along the coast, dial 999 and ask for the coastguard. Stay safe.”
