All are welcome to attend a joyful service of welcome and installation of Rt Reverend David Williams as Bishop of Truro on Saturday, May 17, at Truro Cathedral.
This service will see the new bishop formally occupy his official seat, known as the ‘cathedra’, and presented with the crosier once held by Bishop Benson, who as first bishop of Truro from 1877 ordered the construction of the cathedral.
Truro Cathedral Choir will sing music written especially for the occasion by city composer Russell Pascoe. The service will also feature Falmouth Community Gospel choir and children from schools across Cornwall.
Doors will open at 9.45am and the service will begin at 11am. It will also be live-streamed and available to watch afterwards via the cathedral’s website and its YouTube channel.
