CLOSE to 100 people attended the recent West Cornwall Table Tennis League presentation night at Above Bay at Falmouth Golf Club.

The league continues to go from strength to strength with over 45 teams in the four senior divisions, while the thriving Junior League continues to ensures a steady pathway in the region.

Bridge A, made up of player of the year Dave Plumb, league chairman Karim Ali and the ever-reliable Paul Jenkin, retained the Premier Division crown for the 10th straight year, edging out club-mates Bridge B.

People’s Palace B finished second bottom ahead of Bridge E but will survive due to their B team – who won’t come up – earning the runners-up spot in the First Division.

Falmouth Docks B won the second-tier crown ahead of the aforementioned People’s Palace B, while the second teams of Creekside and Penpol were well adrift at the bottom.

Creekside C claimed the Second Division title ahead of Falmouth Docks B by nine points, while they were three clear of Godolphin C.

Nets and Edges and St Agnes B were well adrift.

The Third Division title went to Falmouth Docks E by eight points ahead of Perranzabuloe. They were in a nine-team division as opposed to 12 in the top three leagues.

The roll of honour for the season was as follows: LEAGUE: Premier Division: Winners – Bridge A (Dave Plumb, Karim Ali and Paul Jenkin); Runners-up – Bridge B (Tom Clack, Harry Stanbury, Callan Hurst and Kelly Plumb).

First Division: Winners – Falmouth Docks B (Will Pavry, Jon Sweet, Jeremy Hartley, Logan Hodgson, Heath Grace, Roy Stubbs); Runners-up – People’s Palace B (Paul Mallen, Nevil Thomas, Chris Stevens).

Second Division: Winners – Creekside C (The Saints) – Pete Cann, Neala Cann, Fynn Fleming; Runners-up – Falmouth Docks D (Peter Rowe, Paritosh Bedekar, Edze Westra, Maz Bryant).

Third Division: Winners – Falmouth Docks E (Charlie Johns, Yuki Reed, Taite Sheldon-Moralee, Joe Westley); Runners-up – Perranzabuloe (Ben Nevitte, Tom Woodward, Tobias Warran, Tim Hodder).

Junior League: Winners – Cape A (Sophia Warren and Charlie Smith); 2 Falmouth Docks Minnows (Ray Wang, Mike Bui and Bill Pridie); 3 St Austell Mavericks (Ben Morse and Thomas Morse).

Alan Knight: Winner – Andrew Trebilcock (TT For Fun); Runner-up – Ben Morse (St Austell); Team Winners – St Austell (Thomas Morse, Ben Morse, Ethan Gaved); Consolation Winner – Malcolm Cuzick (TT For Fun); Consolation Runner-up – Jonathan Bradbury (Godolphin).

Hard Bat: Winner – Peter Conway (St Austell); Runner-up – Thomas Trembath (Cape Cornwall).

Player of the Month: September/October – Corin Trevena (Godolphin); November/December – Fynn Fleming (Creekside); January – Peter Linton (Mounts Bay); February – Logan Hodgson (Falmouth Docks); March – Neala Cann (Creekside).
