St Austell 0 St Blazey 4

St Blazey will need just one point from their remaining two games to become champions of the South West Peninsula League's premier west division.

And they will be favourites to get the point they need from next Wednesday's home game against Sticker after cruising to a Good Friday victory over neighbours St Austell at Poltair.

The Green & Blacks were not at their best but they worked through a difficult patch towards the end of the first half to win with something to spare.

Luke Cloke's 15th minute opener came a minute after Tom Guest had been denied at the other end by a superb save from Shaun Semmens, who went on to make three more top drawer stops before the break.

One save in particular, a reflex effort from a close range Zach O'Connor header, brought applause from supporters of both sides.

The crucial second goal for Blazey arrived 10 minutes after half-time with Cloke reacting quickly to finish from close range after his initial shot had been parried by Lillywhites keeper Piran Jones.

And the champions-elect added two further goals in the last nine minutes. First Joe Cooper was left unmarked at the far post to head home a River Allen corner; then substitute Liam Eddy drover a right foot shot across Jones to make it 4-0 in the 87th minute.
