REDRUTH will be looking to make amends against Barnstaple this Saturday (2pm) after a last-gasp penalty saw them suffer a narrow defeat to Taunton Titans last weekend.
In injury-time, the Reds were penalised at a scrum allowing Tom Putt to fire over from 30-plus metres to give the Titans the narrowest of victories.
Ironically, Barnstaple also secured a last minute win when they faced Redruth at the Rec back in November, which saw the away side run out as 27-26 winners.
Last weekend’s results for Redruth saw them drop back to 10th place in the National League Two West table, while Barum, who were defeated 27-19 by Chester last week, are sitting in 5th position.
For the trip to Pottington Road, Jarrod Hambly, Jess Tompsett, Chris Rovery and Adam Hall have come into the starting line-up. Tom Cowan-Dickie, who was man-of-the-match in last week’s game, has dropped to the bench, while Cam Leigh, Mawgan Osborne and Joe Cummins are not in the squad.
Redruth: 1) Tyler Gendall (VC), 2) Jarrod Hambly, 3) Jess Tompsett, 4) Luke Hattam, 5) Edd Pascoe (C), 6) Connor Triggs, 7) Sam Stevens, 8) Chris Rovery, 9) Adam Hall, 10) Nat Dart, 11) Noah Clifford, 12) Sam James, 13) Jack Simmons, 14) Lewis Thomas, 15) Luke Johnson. Replacements: Tom Cowan-Dickie, Luke Barners, John Stevens, Kaiden Carne, Matt Bonds.
