CARADON’S ladies first team secured an emphatic 7-3 win over visiting Taunton Vale at Lux Park on Saturday in Women’s Division One South of the West Hockey League.

Early attacking intent created multiple chances, with Katie Oliver finding strong positions in front of goal.

Taunton briefly led through a breakaway, but the response was immediate. Lila Johns equalised from a short corner before adding a second well-struck finish moments later. Although Taunton converted another short corner, Caradon remained in control, with player-of-the-match Bizzie Jeffery beginning her excellent scoring display en route to a hat-trick.

Defensively, Daisy Hunn, Amy Batty and Abigail Ingram provided stability, enabling controlled build-up play across the pitch.

In midfield, Hannah Bladon, Amy Scott and Jess Eldridge linked phases effectively and limited Taunton’s progression.

The second half saw Caradon extend their dominance, with Jeffery completing her trio of goals, an additional close-range finish added to the tally, and Kerenza Bunt scoring her inaugural goal for the ones. The squad now moves into the mid-season break sitting second, three points behind the leaders with a game in-hand.

A combined women’s seconds and thirds squad produced an excellent 10–0 cup victory over Newquay Thirds at Penair.

Despite many players not having recently played together, the team moved the ball confidently.

The back line remained composed and distributed effectively, enabling fast transitions, while a series of well-executed short corners and clinical open-play finishes ensured a commanding result.

The fourths delivered a strong team performance in their fixture at St Austell Seconds in Trelawney Division Two, winning 2-0.

Though early opportunities went unfinished, disciplined defending and energetic forward runs kept the momentum.

The breakthrough came when Carina Hodge played the ball into Evelyn Moxham for a composed tap-in, followed shortly by a second goal created by an excellent run from player-of-the-match Olivia Sanders.
