HAYDEN Turner grabbed an 89th minute winner as Mousehole produced an epic late comeback to see off strugglers Bashley in Southern League Division One South on Saturday.

While the Seagulls are comfortably in mid-table, the visitors made the long trip down from Hampshire in desperate need of points to climb away from the bottom four.

They got off to a dream start as Harvey Bertrand gave them a seventh minute lead which cancelled out on 25 minutes by Turner, who had helped himself to a brace in their Cornwall Senior Cup victory at St Blazey in midweek.

Sampaio Alexandre restored Bashley’s lead eight minutes after the restart before former Newquay attacker Turner (64) once again restored parity just after the hour.

Betrand’s second put the visitors in front for a third time on 68 minutes, but after former Camelford and Tavistock midfielder Ed Harrison made it 3-3, Turner completed his hat-trick to end a Step Four classic.

Falmouth Town suffered a disappointing afternoon at strugglers Didcot Town, losing 4-2 in Oxfordshire.

The Cornishmen made the long trip in confident mood after seeing off Willand Rovers seven days earlier, but were two goals down inside half an hour through Felix Robertson and Tyger-J Hall.

The in-form Rubin Wilson pulled one back within 60 seconds, but it was 3-1 five minutes before the break via Owen James.

Luke Barner reduced the arrears once more with 13 minutes of normal time remaining, but Hall’s second after 84 minutes ensured the hosts moved above Falmouth and up to 14th in the table.

Falmouth, who ended the day six points above the relegation places with two games in-hand, welcome Bishops Cleeve on Tuesday night (7.45pm) before hosting Bristol Manor Farm on Saturday (3pm).

Mousehole are also in action this Saturday as head to the Midlands at the same to visit promoted Sporting Club Inkberrow.
