MOUSEHOLE made it back-to-back draws in Southern League Division One South after being held by Bristol Manor Farm in West Cornwall.
The Seagulls shared the spoils in a six-goal thriller with Willand a week before thanks to Jacob Kevern’s late leveller, but this time both goals came in the space of 60 seconds at Interiora Trungle parc.
Hayden Turner’s goal-laden season continued as the hosts led from the penalty spot, but on 35 minutes ‘the Farm’ were all square through Elliott Dugan.
The result leaves Mousehole 13th in the 22-team table, 10 points clear of Willand who were beaten 2-1 by Devon rivals Exmouth Town.
Exmouth’s victory was good news for Falmouth.
While Town’s huge home clash with third bottom Brixham was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, Willand’s defeat means Falmouth stay two points clear of the bottom four with four games in-hand.
Both Cornish clubs in the division face long trips this weekend as Mousehole go to Hampshire to tackle Winchester City and Falmouth head up to Malvern Town in Worcestershire.
For the second straight week, Newquay were unable to kickstart their play-off hopes in the Western League Premier Division due to the weather as their trip to title-chasing Torpoint Athletic fell foul of the weather, as did St Blazey’s away game at Ivybridge Town which means Dan Hart is still yet to take charge of his first league game since being appointed back in mid January.
Saltash United were unable to do themselves and neighbours Torpoint a favour in their play-off quest as they were comfortably beaten 4-0 at Clevedon Town who went back to the top of the table.
Helston Athletic were the only Cornish side in action, but were beaten 5-0 at Street, not helped by a flurry of late goals in Somerset.
