MOUSEHOLE’S Jacob Kevern slotted home a 97th minute equaliser as the Seagulls produced a remarkable late comeback at home to Willand Rovers on Saturday in Southern League Division One South.

After a goalless opening half-hour, Lewis Morgan put the East Devon side in front on 31 minutes before Kaleb Kadimashi levelled inside two minutes.

Harvey Dorothy restored Willand’s lead by the 35th minute before Charlie Bateson seemingly made the points safe shortly after the hour.

However, Jack Symons set up a grandstand finish on 77 minutes and with the hosts piling on the pressure, Kevern slotted home to send the majority of the 212-strong crowd home happy.

Falmouth Town also faced a Cornwall versus Devon clash as they headed to Exmouth Town where they were beaten 3-1.

A sizeable number of the F-Troop headed across the Tamar, but went home empty-handed following a dreadful start which saw the hosts race into a two-goal lead inside ten minutes.

Aarron Denny got the first inside four minutes before Ben Steer doubled the lead soon after.

Rubin Wilson’s penalty with 15 minutes remaining gave the Cornishmen hope, however Matthew Wright added a third for the hosts 10 minutes later to maintain their play-off push.

Newquay and Helston Athletic were both left frustrated by the weather in the Western League Premier Division.

The Peppermints, who have announced the signing of Matt Searle following his recent departure from Helston, were due to be at Brislington, while Helston’s trip to Sidmouth was also postponed.

St Blazey had the week off, while bottom side St Austell’s future remains uncertain.

The two sides from the east of Cornwall in the division both enjoyed good wins.

Torpoint Athletic went top of the table following a 1-0 victory over Bridgwater United thanks to Sam Pearson’s first half finish, while Saltash United resurrected their play-off bid with a 3-2 success at Shepton Mallet.
