PENZANCE squandered a two-goal lead as they fell at the first hurdle of the Walter C Parson Cup 4-2 at home to newly-promoted Truro City Reserves at Penlee Park last night.
Kam Collins gave the Magpies the lead after only 30 seconds following fine build-up play by Oscar Massey and new signing from Mousehole, Charlie Willis, making his home debut.
Three minutes later, Willis set up Jacob Trudgeon to make it 2-0 and they looked to be heading into round two.
However, Truro pulled a goal back through Taylor McNally four minutes before the break, and two minutes after the interval, Ben Shaw levelled it all up at 2-2.
Truro dominated the second half and they wrapped up victory with further goals from substitute Josh Marcelis after 75 minutes, and the same player again in injury time from the penalty spot after he was fouled by Ollie Butler.
Truro now face a second-round trip to Callington Town.
